The various forms of martial arts date back centuries. These practices in discipline, self control, and self defense are integral to the fitness system that Tapout Fitness has developed over years of careful study and practice.

Tapout Fitness in Raleigh offers Tapout Martial arts, based on the Greg Jackson System, to people and athletes of all fitness levels. Children as young as four, all the way up to adults can practice the carefully cultivated Tapout Martial Arts system. This is a true mixed-martial arts program.

The Greg Jackson System

Greg Jackson is one of the most well-known coaches in Mixed Martial Arts. His work with such athletes as George St. Pierre, Jon Jones, and Sarah Kaufman has proven that he is one of the best MMA coaches in the industry.

Greg Jackson has partnered with Tapout Fitness to create a series of Martial Arts classes for all ages. The Greg Jackson system heavily emphasizes physical fitness, motor skills, and life skills before progressing to challenging one’s skills.

In addition to his work with Tapout Fitness, Greg has authored two books as part of his effort to bring modern martial arts—geared toward self-defense, fitness, and personal growth—to the public.

Tapout Martial Arts is split into 3 distinct age ranges: ages 4-7, ages 8-13 and 14 and up

Tapout Martial Arts for Juniors:

  • Ages 8-13
  • Progress through the belt system
  • Learn strikes and mobility
  • Practice physical exercise and mental strengthening
  • Sharpen reflexes for fighting with an opponent

Tapout Martial Arts for Adults:

  • Ages 14 and up
  • Emphasize technique with a fitness perspective
  • Drill sport-specific exercises and form sharpening practices
