Why do I train in Martial Arts?
August 17, 2016
I started training in martial arts when I was in grade school. My first experience was with Taekwondo. I played several other sports when I was younger, however martial arts provided the connection and confidence I needed as a youth. I was a petite kid, so It helped me build confidence in myself and strength. I still remember the day my Dad taught me how to box, after I was bullied. As I grew up I practiced Karate, Muay Thai, and kickboxing. Over the years, martial arts provided me courage, focus, and a challenge.
There were times in my life when it was a positive outlet during personal challenges and stressful times. I’ve witnessed how martial arts has helped youths and adults find something within themselves they didn’t know existed. That inner strength, confidence, focus, and an overall sense of well-being. Martial arts is an incredible workout, working every muscle to help you improve overall fitness. Today, I train for myself, for overall health and wellness, and I train to help others.
